My work explores the cyclical nature of life,

The growth of wild vegetation; known as ecological succession, bears witness to the passing of time.

Trees, to me, hold a particular emphasis, a tangible connection to both the present and the past.

The desiccated seed heads of wildflowers reflect our connection to the future.

Through clay I am grounded in the present.

With minimal handling, I let the clay move under pressure to create hand-built vessels with textured surfaces and deep tonal hues.

These pieces are designed to reflect the raw texture of tree bark and to hold fallen branches and seed heads.

My work shows us that we are connected to the past, the present and the future.
