Artist Statement
The ground on which we plant our feet holds memories. We are standing on our past moving forward. To make vessels from clay allows the vessel to carry within it memories of past lives.
Ikebana is a Japanese tradition of arranging flowers and organic pieces connecting heaven (Shin), earth (Hikae), and humanity (Soe),through mindfullness, minimalism and intention my work reflects the past, present and future.
I am drawn to desicated seed heads and dried branches as a way of visualising the passage of time, my work explores the past, present and potential of our future.
